SkinPen Microneedling at Radiant Aesthetics for prejuvenation and more.

What It Is, How It Works, and How We Make It Work for You

Most people wait until they can see a problem before they start taking care of their skin. Fine lines appear, pores get larger, texture changes, and then the search begins for something to fix it. But a growing number of patients at Radiant Aesthetics are doing something smarter. They are coming in for microneedling in Hudson Oaks and Granbury before a problem ever starts.

Think of it like vehicle maintenance. You can change the oil when it is due and keep the engine running strong for years. Or you can skip it and deal with something much harder to fix down the road. Microneedling in your twenties is the oil change. Waiting until your skin has significantly aged is replacing the engine.

Collagen production starts declining in your mid-twenties. By the time most people notice the effects, the process has already been going on for years. Starting microneedling early means maintaining the skin you have rather than trying to reverse what time has already taken. If your skin looks great right now, that is actually the best time to start. Keep it that way.

What Microneedling Actually Does

SkinPen microneedling works by creating thousands of tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the surface of the skin. That might sound like the opposite of a good time, but your skin responds to those micro-injuries the way it is designed to: by producing new collagen and elastin to repair the area. The result is skin that is firmer, smoother, and more even over time.

The treatment stimulates your skin’s own healing process. No fillers, no foreign substances injected into the tissue. Just your skin doing what it was built to do, with a little encouragement.

Why SkinPen

Not all microneedling devices are created equal. SkinPen holds the distinction of being the first microneedling device to receive FDA clearance in the United States. That matters because it means the device has been rigorously tested for both safety and effectiveness. It is the standard that others are measured against.

SkinPen uses a precise, controlled needle depth that we adjust based on your specific skin concerns and the area being treated. You are not getting a one-size-fits-all treatment. You are getting a calibrated one.

Take Advantage of those open micro-channels with Add-Ons

Here is something most people do not realize about microneedling. The moment those micro-channels open in your skin, a window of opportunity opens with them. For a brief period after treatment, your skin can absorb what is applied to it at a depth that is simply not possible any other way. That is exactly the moment we take advantage of.

At Radiant Aesthetics, we offer targeted add-ons designed to go directly into those open channels and get to work where it matters most. The right one depends on what your skin needs.

Microneedling with PDGF

PDGF stands for Platelet Derived Growth Factors. These are proteins that play a direct role in tissue repair, cell regeneration, and collagen production. When we apply PDGF to the skin immediately after microneedling, those freshly created micro-channels deliver the growth factors deep into the tissue where they can do the most work. Patients who choose this add-on typically see faster recovery, more noticeable results, and a stronger improvement in skin quality overall. This is one of our most popular upgrades.

Microneedling with PRP

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. We draw a small amount of your own blood, process it to concentrate the platelets, and apply that plasma to your skin during the microneedling treatment. Because PRP comes from your own body, it works in harmony with your skin’s natural healing response. It is an excellent option for patients who want to amplify collagen production and accelerate their results using their own biology.

**NEW** Microneedling with Neurotoxin **NEW**

This is one of our newest add-ons and the results speak for themselves. We apply neurotoxin topically to the skin immediately after microneedling, allowing those open micro-channels to deliver it directly into the superficial layers of the skin. At that depth, neurotoxin works differently than it does when injected. It relaxes the tiny muscles around the pores, tightens the surface of the skin, and reduces oil production. The result is what the skincare world calls glass skin: smooth, refined, almost luminous. If you have been chasing that look, this is how you actually get it.

Microneedling for Scars

Acne scars are one of the most common concerns we hear from patients, and they are also one of the hardest things to treat with topical products alone. Microneedling is particularly effective for scar revision because it breaks down old scar tissue while simultaneously stimulating new collagen formation in its place. Over a series of treatments, the texture and depth of scars improve in a way that surface-level skincare simply cannot achieve.

What to Expect

When you come in for microneedling at Radiant Aesthetics, we start by applying a topical numbing cream and giving it 30 to 45 minutes to fully take effect. We do not rush that step. Once your skin is properly numbed, we perform the microneedling treatment. From the time you arrive to the time you walk out the door, plan for about 60 minutes total. Comfort is built into the process from the start.

After your session, your skin will look flushed and feel similar to a mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours. This is normal and a sign that your skin’s repair process has been activated. Most patients return to their normal routine within a day or two. We recommend a series of three to six treatments spaced about four weeks apart for optimal results, though many patients see noticeable improvement after their first session.

Ready to Get Started?

SkinPen Microneedling appointments are available now at both our Hudson Oaks and Granbury locations. We offer single sessions for patients who want to try it first, and package pricing for a series of three for those who are ready to commit to the full transformation. Whether you want to start with a standard session or come in ready to add PDGF or PRP, we will build a treatment plan around what your skin actually needs.
