Is Your Injector Only Looking at Your Upper Face?
One of the most common things I see when a new patient sits down with me is a history of treating only the upper face. Year after year, the same area. Forehead lines, crow’s feet, the space between the brows. Meanwhile the rest of the face continues aging without anyone paying attention to it.
This is not the patient’s fault. It is a pattern that happens when an injector is not looking at the face as a whole. And it is exactly the kind of thing a thorough facial balancing consultation is designed to correct.
Stop Treating Half Your Face. Your Entire Face Is Aging, Not Just One Part
Our faces do not age in isolation. Every decade of life brings changes across every zone. The bones are resorbing/shrinking. The deep fat pads that give the face its structure and lift begin to shrink. The superficial fat pads close to the skin surface thin out as well. Collagen production slows. Skin loses elasticity. All of this happens simultaneously, whether we are treating it or not.
When an injector only addresses one area, the rest of the face keeps changing around it. Over time this creates imbalance. Things start to look heavy, pulled, or just slightly off in a way that is hard to put a finger on. Patients often come in describing that feeling without knowing what is causing it.
I understand the anatomy and understand the way faces are aging, I am able to provide better outcomes for my patients. Treating the face as a whole will always produce more natural results than treating the same area over and over again.
What a Facial Balancing Consultation Looks Like With Me
Before any treatment, I do a thorough consultation. One of the first things I always ask is whether surgery is something the patient is considering in the future. Radiant Aesthetics does not perform surgical procedures, but that question matters because it shapes the entire treatment plan. If a patient is planning a facelift or another surgical procedure down the road, I do not want to do anything that could conflict with that. But if surgery is not on the table and they want to achieve the most beautiful, natural results possible without going under the knife, that is where you can get radiant results with facial balancing.
From there I immediately start assessing the whole face. I am looking at mid-face support, lower face laxity, the relationship between different zones, bone changes that have occurred over time, deep fat pad loss, superficial fat pad loss, and how the skin itself has changed. I educate my patients on what I am seeing and why it matters before anything else happens. A thorough medical history and lifestyle factors are also considered because there are more and more people on glp-1 medications now for weight loss and that is also changing the way the face ages as well.
My goal is never to change the way someone looks or make everyone look the same. I use my knowledge of anatomy along with my artistic eye to restore what was lost due to aging. The result should look like you, just refreshed and balanced. Not treated or over filled.
A Case Study: 68 Years Old, One Session, Absolutely Radiant
I recently shared one of my favorite patients on our social media and honestly she just blew me away. She is 68 years old, absolutely beautiful, and had spent years only treating her upper face. Surgery was never something she wanted. We sat down, I did a full assessment, and what she allowed me to do for her in a single session was truly remarkable. What we accomplished together in one visit is something I do not take for granted. Every face is different, and facial balancing is not always a one-appointment process. Sometimes I prefer to let things settle between sessions before moving on to the next area. That is part of treating the face with intention rather than rushing a result. But when everything comes together the way it did for her, it is one of the most rewarding things I get to do. I am so proud of her and so grateful she trusted me with her face!
Your Forehead Is Not the Only Thing That Ages. Treating the Face as a Whole Always Wins
When we understand anatomy and treat the face as a connected system rather than a collection of individual problems, the results are consistently more natural and more satisfying. My patients stop chasing the same area over and over and start seeing their face actually change for the better.
Facial balancing is one of my specialties at Radiant Aesthetics. I offer facial balancing consultations at both our Hudson Oaks and Granbury locations. Whether you are brand new to aesthetic treatments or have been getting the same injection for years and feel like something is missing, a consultation is the right place to start.
You are never too old to start looking Radiant.
